A massive explosion took place in a firecracker factory in Harda district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning. 11 people died and more than 200 were injured in this incident. Apart from this, 51 seriously injured people have been referred to Bhopal and Indore. Many people are still missing. NDRF team has reached the spot and is working to find and rescue the people trapped in the debris. The ferocity of the explosion also damaged nearby houses and buildings, more than 60 houses were burnt, about 100 nearby houses were evacuated.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav immediately called an emergency meeting and gave instructions to arrange immediate treatment and relief material for the injured. An assistance of Rs 4 lakh each was announced to the families of the deceased and the entire cost of treatment of the injured would be borne by the government.

Apart from this, immediately after this incident yesterday, ambulance and fire brigade from the surrounding districts of Harda also reached the spot. A green corridor was created between Bhopal and Harda to take the injured to the hospital.

Condolences of national leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu expressed deep grief over this incident. The Prime Minister announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand each to the injured from the Prime Minister's National Disaster Fund.

This event united different sections of the society. Fire brigade and ambulance teams from nearby districts reached Harda to assist in relief operations. Authorities gave priority to rescue and relief operations and worked closely with concerned agencies.

NGT (National Green Tribunal) has issued an order saying that in view of the large number of deaths in this incident, there is a need to provide minimum relief. NGT has said in this case that the factory owner should immediately pay and deposit the interim amount. He has ordered the factory owner to pay Rs 15 lakh for the dead, Rs 5 lakh for serious injuries and Rs 3 lakh for normal injuries. Apart from this, he has issued an order to give an amount of Rs 5 lakh if ​​the house is burnt and Rs 2 lakh if ​​the house is evacuated.

This illegal factory was owned by Raju Agarwal, it was run jointly by Raju Agarwal, Somesh Agarwal and Pradeep Agarwal. He was arrested from Sarangpur last night. Whose influence is said to be deep in the administration. It is alleged that this factory was being operated without proper permission and was enjoying political patronage. Congress has also alleged that even though Raju Aggarwal was convicted, the factory continued to operate.

There had been an explosion in this factory two years ago also, in which three people had died. Local people had also complained to the Collector regarding this, but the administration ignored them.

License renewal and illegal storage

The Commissioner of Hoshangabad division had restored the license of the factory some time ago, whereas the factory was earlier declared unfit. It is also alleged that Raju Aggarwal had illegally stored gunpowder in nearby houses, which could be the main reason for the accident.
