How to Play Chess Game

In chess, each piece has its own way of moving, it moves at a certain speed at a certain place. In this, no piece can be moved over any other piece, if it belongs to the opponent then it is killed, but if it is one's own piece then it cannot be moved over it.

1. King – The king is the main character of this game, to protect whom this game is played. But despite being the main one, it is the weakest. The king can move only one step, in any direction, up, down, side to side or diagonally.

2. Queen – Queen, also known as Wazir, is very powerful in the game. It can move any number of squares in any direction, diagonally, straight, forward, backward.
Elephant – An elephant can move any number of squares as per its wish, but it can only move vertically or horizontally, it cannot move diagonally. Rooks are also powerful, each player has 2 of them. These two work together and protect each other.

3. Camel – Camel can also move in any number of squares as per its wish, but it can move only diagonally. Both camels work together and cover their weaknesses.

4. Horse – The gait of a horse is very different from the rest. It runs two and a half houses in any one direction. It moves like an L shape. The horse is the only piece that can move over any other piece.

5. Pawn – Pawn acts like a soldier. They move one step forward, but hit another piece diagonally. The pawn moves only one square at a time, it can move only 2 squares in the first move. It cannot follow, nor can it kill. If someone comes in front of the pawn, it cannot retreat, nor can it directly hit the pawn.

Pawns have a special right. If it reaches that side of the board while moving, then any other chess piece becomes available, this is called promotion.

Some Special Rules of Chess Game –

Castling – This is a special rule. In this you can do two things simultaneously, save the king and also remove the rook from the corner and bring it into the middle of the game. In this, the player can move his king 2 squares instead of one square, and can also place the rook next to the king. These things are necessary for castling –
  • Castling can be done only once by the king.
  • This should be the king's first move.
  • This should be the elephant's first move.
  • There should not be any space between the king and the elephant.
  • There should be no checkmate on the king.
Checkmate – When the king is checked from all sides, and the king is unable to escape from it, it is called checkmate. Ways to get out of checkmate –
  • The king should move away from that place
  • Bring the second piece to the middle of the check
  • kill that piece
If the king cannot escape checkmate, the game ends there.

Tie ( Draw ) – If no winner emerges in the game, then in that situation the game becomes a draw. There can be five reasons for being a draw –
  • Both players agree and stop the game
  • If there are no pieces left on the board for checkmate
  • A player can call a draw when the same situation occurs three times in a row.
  • If a player makes a move, but his king is not checkmate, but he still has no room to make any more moves.
Despite knowing the rules of chess, not everyone can play this game. The practice of playing this game comes from watching someone play it. The game of chess is now available on mobile and computer also, where the game can also be learned.
